Details: Serial offender Robertson was arrested after a woman told police that he broke into her apartment and choked and bit her on the face. This was Robertson’s fourth career arrest, and the first of three over a six week span that summer. In total, he was arrested an astounding 5 times over a 14-month period from 1995 to 1996.

Details: During a visitation exchange of their 10-year-old son in Washington, Williams pulled a gun on the child’s mother and made threats, prompting a call to police. The arrest took place only two months after Williams signed a non-guaranteed contract with Boston in March. Williams was subsequently waived in June, likely as a result of this arrest.

Details: After leaving a Portland nightclub, Rockets forward Terrence Jones allegedly yelled ‘wake up!’ to a homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk, and then stomped violently on his leg. Unfortunately for him, a police sergeant was nearby and witnessed the unprovoked attack.

Details: Sprewell was pulled over and arrested in Manhattan for driving with a suspended license. The license had been suspended after he failed to answer a summons for failing to signal. He was taken into custody, paid a fine and was released.

Charge: Disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest

Details: Potapenko was denied entry to a Miami Beach club due to being inebriated and refused to leave the scene. Officers responded and Potapenko became aggressive and allegedly used a racial slur and was placed under arrest.

Details: Investigators began looking into Woods following a 2014 television report that alleged his pet pit bull was abandoned and covered in serious bite wounds. Four months later he plead guilty to misdemeanor animal abuse to avoid more serious charges of dog fighting, and was sentenced to probation and community service. The Blazers waived Woods immediately following his plea.

Details: Following a loss to the neighboring Lakers, Zach Randolph apparently went out drinking. He was pulled over weaving his Rolls Royce across an LA freeway. This was Randolph’s third career arrest, though his first in over five years.

Details: Three weeks after being unceremoniously traded from the Lakers to the Celtics, Payton was pulled over after being spotted backing down an onramp on a San Diego freeway. Once pulled over he failed a sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence. This was Payton’s second arrest in as many years.

Details: Taking place at the peak of the “Jailblazers” era, rookie Qyntel Woods’ arrest for marijuana possession was the sixth Portland arrest within the last year. Woods was pulled over for speeding when officers found a small amount of marijuana in his car.
