Details: The young Dallas rookie was arrested after a complaint was filed by a local 16-year old girl alleging that he threatened to harm her, and that he brandished a gun and threatened to shoot the girl’s brother if she told him about the encounter.  Smith would end up being arrested again a day later and never played a single game for the Dallas Mavericks.

Details: Rodman and his estranged wife Carmen Electra were arrested at an upscale Miami Beach hotel after the two were involved in a physical altercation. Police were called to investigate reports of a loud disturbance, and when they arrived they found Electra with a cut on her lip and Rodman with scratches on his arm and a torn shirt.

Details: Coleman was arrested driving while under the influence after the car he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer. Hornets backup guard Eldridge Recasner  was a passenger in Coleman’s vehicle and was injured.  This was one of three arrests for Coleman in 1999 alone, and one of an astounding seven career arrests.

Details: Potapenko was arrested following an altercation with his girlfriend at Logan International Airport.  Employees called police after the two were seen arguing in the airport parking lot, and Potapenko was arrested after he refused to leave the scene.

Details: Rodman was drunk and causing a disturbance at a Newport Beach, California restaurant and refused to leave after being asked  by management.  Police were subsequently called and he was arrested for public intoxication.  This was the first of three incidents where Rodman would be arrested over a four month span in late 1999.

Details: While eating in a Detroit Chinese restaurant with pals Thomas ‘Hit Man’ Hearns and Jalen Rose, Coleman apparently decided to stand up and urinate in front of dozens of shocked patrons.  He drove off in his Bentley convertible after being asked to leave.  Police were called and he was later arrested and pleaded ‘no contest’ to a disorderly conduct charge.  This was the second of what would be three arrests in 1999 for the NBA crime legend, of a total of a record seven arrests during his NBA career.

Charge: Evading arrest and possession of marijuana

Arrest Date: July 24, 1999

Age 24

Details: Nailon and two other men, including NFL star LaDainian Tomlinson, were smoking marijuana in a Texas motel when officers knocked on the door after noticing the smell.  The three men then jumped out of a second story window before being apprehended in Nailon’s SUV.  This was the first of three career arrests for Nailon.
