Harding, Reggie

Charge: Assault and Battery

Arrest Date: September 6, 1965

Franchise: Detroit Pistons

Age 23

Details: After several run-ins with the law before going pro, Harding was arrested for assault and battery while playing for the Pistons after being involved in a fight.  He was also arrested for loitering two days later and eventually was shot and killed in Detroit in 1972 following an argument on a street corner, at the age of 30.

Details: While at a nightclub with a large entourage, Allen allegedly was involved in a disagreement with two men.  The first he punched, breaking his jaw.  He then ordered someone in his entourage to ‘fuck up’ the second man, resulting in his friend shooting and injuring him.

Details: Beard and fellow Olympians teammate Alex Groza were arrested after their involvement in a point-shaving incident two years earlier while playing college basketball at the University of Kentucky.  Along with a third Kentucky teammate, Beard and Groza accepted $500 each from gamblers to keep a game versus Loyola within the point spread of 10.  While trying to keep the score close, they accidentally lost to Loyola.
