Details: Stevenson set an almost unbreakable record for fastest arrest since becoming a pro, getting arrested on the night of the draft for brawling during a high school basketball game.  Within several hours after being drafted 23rd in the first round by the Jazz, Stevenson and as many as twenty others participated in the melee.

Charge: Receiving and concealing stolen property

Arrest Date: May 19, 2000

Franchise: Milwaukee Bucks

Details: Traylor was arrested after being pulled over driving a car that had been reported stolen.  The owner said he had lent the car to Traylor’s Bucks teammate Tim Thomas for a test drive and it was never returned.  It was unclear how the car ended up with Traylor.  The owner ultimately dropped the charges.

Details: Rodman was drunk and causing a disturbance at a Newport Beach, California restaurant and refused to leave after being asked  by management.  Police were subsequently called and he was arrested for public intoxication.  This was the first of three incidents where Rodman would be arrested over a four month span in late 1999.

Details: Robinson was arrested following an incident outside of Club Chaos, a Miami nightclub.  He became upset after being denied admission because of what he was wearing, shouting at doormen until police arrived.  Officers were unable to calm him down, and appeared drunk and ‘on the verge of physical violence.’

Details: Coleman was arrested at a Detroit nightclub following an incident with police.  Apparently, after his friend was arrested for disorderly conduct, Coleman refused to leave the scene and continued to interfere with police until he was placed under arrest.  This was the third arrest during Coleman’s professional career, out of an all-time record seven career arrests.

Details: Hardaway was pulled over after being spotted driving his blue Ferrari at 110mph early one morning.  When stopped, Hardaway berated the officer, threatening to “take him down.” He also mentioned that he had “friends in high places who can make it very unpleasant for you.”  Additionally, he uttered obscenities and homophobic slurs toward the officer.

Details: Rider was pulled over after a California Highway Patrol officer stopped the Mercedes-Benz he was driving because it had illegally tinted front windows.  They then saw a ‘cloud of marijuana smoke’ come from the vehicle, and upon searching it they found a cell phone with the serial numbers illegally scratched off.  Rider had been jailed and nearly arrested just two weeks earlier following sexual assault accusations, and would go on to be arrested two more times in the next four months.
