Details: While driving up a highway on-ramp at 2am, Ellis veered sharply into a collapsible barrier and across into the express lanes before crashing.  Ellis was hospitalized with a collapsed lung and three broken ribs, and arrested for driving while intoxicated.  This was his third arrest in the previous 3 years.

Charge: Driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest

Arrest Date: November 15, 1989

Age 24

Details: Tarpley, who was ultimately banned from the NBA for repeated drug and alcohol violations, received his first career arrest after getting pulled over and scuffling with officers.  It ultimately took six policemen to subdue him after his violent reaction. He was later arrested for DUI again two years later.

Details: After being pulled over for speeding, Bol failed a sobriety test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  This was his second DUI arrest in less than two months, after being arrested in early July of 1988.

Details: Bol was stopped by police at 5:20am in Maryland after being seen driving erratically.  Bol then became argumentative and struck several troopers before being subdued and handcuffed.

Arrest Date: December 18, 1978

Age 22

Details: Yet another arrest for King came when police found the Nets star passed out and slumped over the steering wheel of his Corvette while in possession of a small amount of cocaine.  This was the third arrest for King since being drafted by the Nets just 18 months earlier, and his fifth arrest since joining the University of Tennessee basketball program.  He was ultimately traded to the Jazz by the frustrated Nets, where he eventually faced his most serious charges of sexual assault after a New Years incident in 1980.
